COVID-19 Situation:
The restrictions imposed in many countries due to the developments
of the COVID-19 epidemy force us to postpone
the ION conference by one year.

The abstract submission system for updating and new submissions will be re-opened next spring.

The XIII-th International Conference on Ion Implantation and other Applications of Ions and Electrons - ION 2020 will be held in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland, between 29-th June and 2-nd July 2020. Kazimierz Dolny is a historic town founded in the XV-th century by the Polish king, Kazimierz the Great. It is located on the hills with a magnificient view of the Vistula River.

The conference is organized on the biennial basis by the Institute of Physics, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin University of TechnologyJoint Institute for Nuclear Research, and Wrocław University of Technology. The place of the conference i.e. "Dom Dziennikarza" hotel is ideally located in garden surroundings, within easy walking distance from the centre of Kazimierz Dolny.

The ION 2020 Conference will continue to present state-of-the-art ion, electron and plasma science and technology and its application in materials engineering. It has to be noted particularly that this now well-established series of biennial ION conferences has created a unique opportunity for scientists from Eastern and Western Europe together with their Polish colleagues, to discuss in a most agreeable environment, some of the fundamental questions in their field and develop new perspectives through the mutual exchange of ideas.

The following topics represent the focus of the ION 2020:

– formation and modification of subsurface layers using ion, electron and plasma electron technologies,

– ion beam micro- and nano-engineering,

– plasma – based and ion beam – assisted deposition method,

– research methods with application of ions and electrons,

– fundamentals of ion beam interactions with solids.

The range of materials includes metals, semiconductors, insulators, polymers, etc.
