Kazimierz Dolny
Kazimierz Dolny is simply beautiful. The panorama of the city viewed from the Trzykrzyska Mountain can make one’s head spin.
The view from the Castle walls or from the Turret’s top is no less encouraging. Once on the top of the Plebania Mountain, above the 17th century church and a monastery of the Order of the Reformati we shall see the architectural axis of the city formed by the monastery, the Market Square, the parish church, the Castle and the Turret.
A fragment of the Celej House
From the cloister hill we shall go down to Senatorska Street demarcated by rows of ancient houses, among which the most exquisiteis the Celej House with its dazzling sculptures andrich ornamen-tation of the facade.
Visiting Kazimierz Dolny makes it impossible to omit The Nadwislanskie Museum with its branches: the Museum of Nature and the Museum of Smithery, as well as the House of the Creative Work of Maria and Jerzy Kuncewicz, in the neighbourhood of the Journalists’ House.
Once we find ourselves on the local Market Square, it is hard to resist the growing anxiety to explore. One cannot decide whether to admire the architecture of the Renaissance apartment houses of the Przybyla family, to be ravished by shapes and colours of an ingeniously designed Gothic-Renaissance parish church or simply to submerge into the familiar climate of the city. It is created by local community as well as by tourists, painters, and participants of various conferences and seminars often held in Kazimierz Dolny.
